Last time we left off, Julie was kidnapped from the MoM. Vera is just in near tears in thoughts of losing her friend and Dan is just more emotional than Vera is. But how will they explain the whole thing to Hermione?
When someone's name is in stars (**) it means that the events from that part of the story are from their perspective instead of Julie's.
E.g. *Vera*, it will be the part of the story that she participates in but Julie's not there.
"Welcome to the Malfoy Manor, where my family used to live" Malfoy spoke
I tossed about in immense fury. The disgustingly dark setting of the place gave me the chills. Then, a rope from my mouth vanished
"No kidding. I don't think that even a moth would like to live here." I replied sarcastically
"This building will be your prison and eventually the place where I kill you. I've been waiting too long to find out about your aunt's treasure. WHERE IS IT?" He shouted
"I don't know! I don't even know of what it is not to mention the location of it!" I replied in anger
"You do know!"
"No I don't!"
"Greyback!" He shouted. From the shadows came out a figure that was partially human and partially werewolf. He wore a black leather jacket and a pair of matching jeans. They were worn out and grey in some places.
"Take her to the cells. don't bite her or undo the ropes." Malfoy continued
Greyback nodded and gave out a noise of frustration as if he wanted to bite anyone. He took me by the ropes and dragged me along to this really creepy cell with silvery bars, as if they were brand new. The cell was small and dusty. With no communication with the outside world, all I wanted to be is back home.
'I just wish that I'd listened to my parents. Now, I wouldn't be minutes or seconds away from being killed.' I thought as I sat there hopelessly.
*Vera*
"It's 3:30 Dan. We only have two and a half hour to find Jules and get back to the castle!" I said to Dan.
"I know. Let's find Hermione's office and beg her to help us." Dan replied
"Dan, we can't just say 'Oh yeah, we kind of went in to the DoM."
"Duh, I know! That is why I have it rehearsed in my mind already!"
"What will you say 'We just ran away"
"Shut it! Come on. let's go!" Dan said and we went on our way to find Hermione's Office in the Magical Law Enforcement, which an discovered while exploring the third floor. I could not say that the Ministry was the most pleasant place to be. With all those workers and passerby's starng at you for being out of Hogwarts, it did make us feel a bit uncomfortable.
"It's here!" Dan said and I gently knocked on the door.
"Please, come in!" Hermione said
We went inside to find Mrs Weasley sat behind her desk with a pile of papers laying on top of the worktop.
"How may I Help you today?" She politely asked
"Mrs Weasley, I am Vera and this is Daniel Sharmons, Julie's brother!" I explained
"I am pleased to meet you both. How may I help you? Please sit down!" Hermione said and pointed at the seats n front of us. We sat down.
"Mrs Weasley, we have to confess something and I know that you won't be happy with it. Julie, Dan and I went in to the DoM" I started to explain
"Why did you go there? You were the ones to weaken the magical shielding charms around it, weren't you?" She spoke in a much angrier tone.
"We're sorry. Fact is that ever since Julie found a charm in the Potions classroom with 'Property of the Department of Mysteries' inscribed on it, she went through nearly every book in the library to find something out about the DoM. But nothing. We decided to go right into the source and Julie promised to strengthen the shield charms when she said she would come out. But nothing" Dan explained
"You mean, she just vanished?!" Hermione's voice was now overfilled in worry.
"No. She was kidnapped by Malfoy himself. The fact is that we don't know what exactly happened since she asked us to leave it her to battle it out. But she vanished along with him."
I put my head down on the desk and just let tears flow right from my eyes. I was worried about Julie like no one else was. I didn't want to lose a best friend
"Hey, Vera it's OK!" Dan said and patted my back
"Dan, I'm just emotionally destroyed right now. What if she's already dead? What if we will be too late to show up and we find her lying on the floor, dead?" I asked through my tears
Then someone stormed into the room
"Hermione, we have just gotten word that someone broke the enchantments at the DoM door!" Harry and Ron said in unison. Dan and I looked down in shame.
"It was you guys?" Ron asked
"Ronald, be polite for once in your life! For heaven's sake, we are adults not 16 year old teens anymore!"
"Hey I asked politely, Hermione! Chill!" Ron replied in defense. Dan and I laughed
"Ron, Harry we have got a problem on our hands." Hermione began
"Um, the fact that you are in such a bad mood or the fact that someone took down DoM?" Harry asked.
"Neither. Draco kidnapped Julie" Hermione replied coldly.
"How?" Ron asked
"Cut long story short. Battle and apparition" I replied
"We should use the Trace. We'll find her that way!" Harry suggested.
*Julie*
As I laid on the cold stone floor tied up, I heard a song in my head. The song that I always loved. "Fully Alive" by Flyleaf was stuck inside my head for some reason. Maybe because I was still alive. Maybe because I was trying to be happy through my last few moments of my life. But that song could't stop making me think of something that kept me truly alive. It was love and compassion. Selflessness and joy. Something that Malfoy would never understand. Just like his master, Voldemort, Malfoy's love and compassion were gone. Even if he had a son, Scorpius, he would not understand friendship, love and joy the way my friends and I did, which was much more of a treasure than whatever we were to find.
But, I was never expecting this large BANG coming out of the main room.
"Where is my sister?" Dan demanded
"Dan?" I asked in hope
"Sister? WHAT sister?" Malfoy asked
"Julie Sharmons. am her brother that you tried to curse eleven years ago!" Dan replied bravely.
"Daniel Sharmons! You were supposed to have perished just like your sister!"
"Looks like you got your wand in a knot!" Vera said
"And you did not expect us either!" Harry, Ron and Hermione shouted
"Fire! Stupefy!" All of them shouted together. I heard a huge KABOOM noise, as if something fell from a great height
Then three people came downstairs. It was Hermione, Vera and Dan.
"Watch out, Greyback's behind you!" I gasped out as the ropes squeezed tighter
Greyback stood behind the trio. Vera turned around and pointed her wand at Greyback.
"Impedimenta!" She shouted. Greyback was backed up the back of the room into a dark corner.
"Bombarda!" Hermione said, pointing her wand at the cell.
The lock burst into a thousand pieces and blasted the door open.
"Finite Incantatem!" Vera said
The ropes disappeared and i felt extreme relief for I never thought that I would see my friends again.
"Thank you, everybody!" I hugged them when I stood up.
"No problem!" They replied
"I'm going to get payback no matter what!" I swore to them loud enough for people upstairs to hear.
I rushed upstairs to find Draco Malfoy on the floor defeated.
"Haha! See how good comes back to bite your backside?" I asked
"You just wait. will get you!" He replied
"You always say that but it fails every time!"
"Apparate!" Harry said and we huddled around. Then in a matter of seconds we were in Hermione's Office.
"Vera, Daniel could you leave us alone for a moment? We must speak to Julie privately"
"After what just happened? We are never leaving her side again!" Vera and Dan said simultaneously.
"Please, we must speak to her privately. Don't worry we aren't going to hand her over to Malfoy!"
"OK" They agreed and left the room.
"Harry, Ron, Julie please have a seat!" Hermione said. We sat in the chairs in front of her glass topped desk.
"Right then, so what made you go into the Department of Mysteries?" Hermione asked politely.
"How do you know?" I asked
"Dan and Vera told us when they came seeking help to find you. Please, tell us!" Harry replied
"Well, every since our first Potions lesson, I have been on the look out for information in the Hogwarts on the DoM. I found this while looking for ingredients in Professor Slughorn's classroom." I said and took my charm out
"Property of the Department of Mysteries!" Ron read out the inscription.
"Ever since finding this, I have been on a lookout for information everywhere. But no luck. So along with my brother and Vera we decided to go right into the source. I believe that this charm could possibly be a key to something. In the Hall of Prophecy, we found a prophecy about Dan and I. But after I heard it, Malfoy turned up out of nowhere to fight me. I told my friends to run for it and I fought Malfoy until he used the Rope Curse to get to me" I explained
"This charm was not there by accident. Someone planted it there. Keep it safe. And if you guys need entry to the DoM just let us know! And we will strengthen the enchantments on the door for you. Go back to Hogwarts and stay there for now. As it comes to Hogwarts, what's Umbridge up to?"
"Same as to what she was up to 16 years ago. Making lives miserable."
"Go back and stay out of trouble." Harry said
"Thank you once again for rescuing me!" I finished
"No worries!" They replied in unison as I left the room.
*Hermione*
"OK, this day was just crazy!" Harry said
"No cheese, Sherlock!" I replied sarcastically
"By the way, that charm must have been planted there by someone from the DoM. There is no way that it got there by accident." Ron said
"I agree on that, but how will we find out what that charm was supposed to do? It cannot just be a fashion accessory!" Harry replied
"It could be a key to something. I just have no idea of to what it would be used for." I commented
"Either way, we must get to enhancing the shielding charms again" Ron finished
