Chapter 3 of Year 2: "Whisper In the Dark"

Title derived from a song title! Can you guess it?

*Susan*
The first week at the Sargents went by quickly. Emilia has been a genuine gem to us all. She helped out during the Second Wizarding War and taught us many things about that period of time. She also did everything a mother did and to Dan (even though it wasn't his real home) it felt as if he was home.
But, she was worried that the Malfoy was starting a Third Wizarding War. She was concerned for the safety of her kids for when they would go to Hogwarts. We got a secret keeper sense from her throughout that first week. It was as if she knew something that we should've known.

Jules, Dan and I sat outside in the grassy fields, playing gobstones and exploding wizard card games.
"I have a feeling that Emilia isn't telling us something. She's keeping something from us." I said to Jules and Dan who were busy unwrapping brand new gobstones.
"I've caught that same vibe. Not something she would do though!" Dan replied as he put an unwrapped gobstone on the grass.
"It was a shock to me as well. Emilia is usually very open. I don't understand what she's trying to hide." Julie commented.

We played Gobstones for a good few hours with the wind blowing lightly and softly on us. Messed up Julie's hair though. She was not happy. But then again, she never was happy when the wind made her look like a bird's nest.

*Julie*
We went to bed that night. But I kept hearing strange whispers in the dark. Nothing that I've ever experienced.
Someone knocked on the door of my room
"Come in!" I said
Susan came in through the door.
"Do you hear the whispers as well or is it just me?" She asked
"Yes, and it's pretty creepy!" I replied
"Yeah. I wonder where they are coming from. It's definitely not coming from the house."
"I suggest we investigate the sound. Rather than sit here and try to guess what it is" I suggested
Susie nodded in approval. We quietly sneaked out of the house through the window using the Arresto Momentum charm and followed the whispering sound into the nearby woods.

*Susan*
The sound was getting closer with every step we made.
"Where's it coming from? And what could it be?" I asked
"Don't know! Our best bet is to follow it and find out!" Julie said as we continued our trekking through the dark, mysterious forest. The sound was getting clearer. It was Barty Crouch and Malfoy having a conversation
"Listen here, Barty! You better get those kids to me or I will make sure you end up like the Longbottom's parents all those years ago!" Malfoy shouted
"I'm trying master! But every time the escape!" Barty replied
"Julie, it's Barty Crouch and Malfoy. We must not get spotted." I whispered
"Our best bet is to cast some illusion spells to keep them occupied and run for it!"
I nodded and cast a huge snake, spider and wolf illusion around them and ran with Julie back in to the forest
"Hopefully that will keep them busy enough for us to get back to the house!" Julie puffed out.
"Too little too late for that!" Malfoy said as he walked out of the shadows with Barty Crouch.
"You two are trapped. You'll have to come with us." Barty said and grabbed my wrist tight.
"Thing is, we have no idea what there is that our uncle and aunt had. We are clueless and we are not the most valuable source of information." I replied coldly.
"Liars, you kids are!" Malfoy snapped at us.
"No, we are not." Julie angrily talked back.
I managed to free my wrist from Crouch's grip but a spell hit me.  It was hurting everything inside.
The Crucio Curse. I screamed in horror. It wasn't anything like I've ever experienced. The pain was horrid. The torture was so much like being cut open everywhere, but 100x worse.
"Will you tell us where it is? Or should I keep torturing you?" Malfoy asked.
I thought to myself for Julie to just run. I could see that she closed her eyes as if she heard something and immediately ran.
"I can contact her too?" I thought to myself. And apparently my messages were a lot clearer than Hermione's

*Julie*
The message was clear. I wondered how Susie could do it. It's not as rare as McGonagall said it was.
I ran through the dark, moonlit forest to find my way back to the house to get help.
I barged through the back door of the house.
I went up to Emilia's room.
"Emilia!" I shouted.
"What's happening Julie?" She replied, with a sleepy voice.
"Help! Susie and I went into the forest as we heard voices coming from it. Now, Susie's being tortured! (or at least I thought it was, by the sound of it)
Emilia jumped out of her bed as if someone fired her out of a canon.
"Take me there! Now!!!" Emilia quietly screamed. Her fear for Susan was so real. I could see it in her frightened blue eyes.
She ran through the hallways faster than the speed of sound (it seemed like that, anyway.)
"Please, hurry!" Susan's voice screamed in my head.

We ran through the woods to find Susie on the ground, without moving or breathing. I kneeled next to her and hugged her. "Susan...." I whispered in her ear.
Her eyelids moved slightly before collapsing into my arms again.
I laid her on the grass.
"Malfoy!!!" I shouted
"Right here, Julie!" He said as he walked out of the shadow of the trees
"Stupefy!" I yelled and a red light fired from my wand and hit Malfoy. The spell knocked him spinning backward to where he came from.
"Nice shot, Julie!" Emilia patted me on the shoulder.
"Thanks Emilia. Susie!" I replied and ran over to my sister to pick her up. She wasn't responding to anything I said. Her eyes were closed and her intake of air was very irregular.
"Susan!" I screamed and hugged her tighter. I just did not want to let go.

After Emilia finished off fighting Barty Crouch Jr, we carried Susie back to the house. We carried her up the stairs, and into her room. We laid her in her bed and I sat beside her bed.
"Will she be alright?" I asked Emilia.
"This lasted for quite a while. The spell was just so intense on her. But she'll be OK. Just give it a few hours."
She then left the room.

Until the late hours of the morning, I sat beside Susan's bed and wept. As the sun kissed the earth with the warmth of it's July rays, I promised myself that I'd avenge this. At around 11am, Susan's eyelids began to move and slowly opening up. I could see that her eyes were totally blank, or at least they seemed like it.
After an hour and a half, Susie began to slowly talk and wake up to where she was and what happened. At around 8pm, Susie was fully alive but she couldn't walk very well, It took her a few days to get used to walking again as her legs suffered greatly during the interrogation for the information that we did not even know.

I hope you all enjoyed this chapter. The Trio seem to never have a quiet life for a time, don't they?
Please share on Google+, Twitter and Facebook. I'd appreciate it greatly!
