Chapter 4 of Year 2: "Danger of the Diagon Alley"

Hey guys! I've started college again so I'm sorry for the delay with the chapters. It's been busy, busy, busy! Hope you'll enjoy this chapter!

*Daniel*
It was the time for the annual trip for school supplies down to the Diagon Alley. With Julie already owning all the books from Florish and Botts under the sun, she just needed to buy a new Gryffindor robe and some other clothing and writing supplies.
"Julie, hurry up! It doesn't take thirty minutes to pick out a school skirt!" Susie angrily shouted across the shop. Her voice was still a bit shaky and her body was sometimes still crippling underneath the pressure to support her walking and standing. The attack took a big toll on her. She wasn't able to use her arms and fingers properly for a few weeks. This prevented her from dong what she loved: painting. She couldn't hold on to the brush a few seconds before dropping it. Her legs malfunctioned for a week and a half. I was just so glad that she was able to do these things now. I smiled and was thankful that I didn't have a school skirt buying dilemma.
"Hold on, Susie! No need to go all Umbridge on me!" She casually replied.
I laughed and Susie gave out a sigh of disappointment and rolled her eyes.
"Talking of her, how are we going to deal with her this year?" I asked.
"Use the old and tested tactic: attack and run!" Julie replied
Susie smiled. She was still quite weak. The doctor said that she'd make a speedy recovery in time for school. And she did.

*Susan*
I had to sit down on the small leather seat next to the changing room. After the Crucio curse, I felt my head spinning like a wheel on a Muggle bus everyday in the morning and in the evenings. It was around 11am. I sometimes felt like a disc on a DJ turn table. My bones weren't functioning for a while and sometimes, I still felt like something was crushing them one by one. Slowly beating on them and turning them to mush. From time to time, I couldn't hold anything in my hand for longer than a few minutes before the fingers felt like jelly. I put the bag on the floor and rested my arms for a while.
"Just a few minutes so I could try it on!" Julie replied and went into the changing room. I nodded and Dan sighed and shook his head in disappointment. I smiled at his reaction. I've never seen him that annoyed.
"I'm taking this one!" Julie announced after a few minutes.
"I thought she's never say that! Shopaholic!" Dan replied with a sigh of relief. Julie paid for the skirts and we went out to Diagon Alley again.

*Julie*
"Oliver!" I exclaimed when I spotted Oliver coming out of Olivanders.
"Hey Julie!" He replied
"Julie!" Vera ran up when she saw us all.
"Hi Vera! Long time no see! Oliver this is Vera, and my siblings Susan and Dan!" I introduced Oliver all of them.
"I thought you were the only child?" Oliver replied
"It's a very long story. We'll explain on the Hogwarts Express. We will meet you at the Kings Cross Station in two weeks ?" Susan replied
"Sure. Wooah!" he replied and screamed as the ground began to shake. Sounds of blasts and explosions came from nearby.
"Let's get inside." Dan said and everyone from the Alley ran inside to hide from the incoming blasts.

*Oliver*
"What's going on?" I asked with curiosity.
Julie an Susan walked over to the window.
"Death Eaters!" Julie whispered to Susan but I managed to hear.
"Death Eaters? I asked quietly
"The guys that attacked our town a few weeks ago, Oliver." Susan replied
"Everyone to the ground!" Shopkeeper yelled. We fell to the ground just in time because a green and black spell blast fired through the window and door and set the back of the Magical Menagerie on fire.

*Susan*
"That is it!" I angrily groaned
"Stay down, Susan! Don't be stupid as I was a few weeks ago. Plus, your bones are still pretty brittle! Don't even think of going anywhere!" Julie hissed to me as as I began to get up.
I considered what she said and nodded. I went down to the floor again.
Then, a few Death Eaters came in.
"We are looking for Susan Sharmons. Come out wherever you are for we know you're here!"
We sat still, frozen. We looked at each other with fear.
"Come out, Susan! Or we'll knock this shop down"
I got up and quickly shot a Stupefy at them.
"Susan!" Julie hissed quietly,
"What was I suppose to do? Let them knock down the Menagerie?" I hissed back
Julie got up and pointed her wand at the Death Eaters and so did Dan. Oliver looked at us, confused.
"Just stay down, Oliver." I whispered. He nodded in approval.

*Dan*
One of the Death Eaters fired a few Stupefys at us, knocking Jules over.
"What do we do?!" I asked Susan.
"What do you think? Return fire, that's what we do!" She replied.
"Come here you three!" A female voice spoke. That voice... Was familiar.
"Narcissa Malfoy!" I gasped
"Who??" Julie asked
"Explain later! Guys, fire Stupefy Maxima together. Now! One, two, three!" I commanded. We fired the jinx and the entire room glowed in the red light of the spell. After a brief moment, the storm over the Diagon Alley let up. The Death Eaters have been banished. Everyone in the Magical Menagerie let out a sigh of relief.
"Good job you three!" Oliver complimented.
"Thanks Oliver! Time to head back home. We've got to prepare for some new classes." Julie said
"We'll, I'm not planning on staying in the Divination or the new class 'the Magical Book Recognition and Banishment of Cursed Books class. Way too boring and Divination isn't certainly my area" Susie replied
"I'm gonna try out the new 45 Minute classes like the Book Recognition, the advanced removal of difficult hexes and charms class where Finite Incantatem isn't enough, advanced transfiguration class to learn to be an animagus, the Apparition classes. Guys they are allowing second years to try and master Apparition classes! It's a chance to master advanced magical skills! Julie excitingly commented.
"I'm going to try out the Apparition classes and the advanced transfiguration with Julie. But I'm also trying out the Advanced Introduction to Muggle Theology!" Vera commented
"I'm also having a go at the Muggle Technology class and the Muggle Arts! Susie replied
"Is this what this year is going to be like?" I asked
"Have you been hibernating, Dan? Yes, of course! The Hogwarts letter when we were in our hometown mentioned it but in fine hand writing!" Julie answered
I nodded in approval of information.
"All those classes seem so confusing. I'll be sticking to the old fashioned timetable!" I shrugged.
"You'll be missing out on learning some of the fantastic magical skills!" Vera replied in shock
"It's because he's not that skilled. His studying skills and putting them into practise simply aren't Dan's fun side of things!" Julie explained
"Speak for yourself. I'm perfectly capable of mastering that stuff. It's just I don't want to at this time!" I huffed
"Right...." Julie wondered
"Enough you two!" Susie interrupted
"Do they always fight?" Oliver asked
"Mostly. They can even argue during a major battle!" She replied, nodding in response
"Susie! It was you who starts the whole thing in the DoM. Stop blaming us!" They replied
We laughed. We remembered the incident from June.

I hope you've enjoyed this chapter and yet again, I solemnly apologise for the delay.
